WTware from IDE CDROM.
Please, read WTware boot ways manual at first!
WTware terminal is able to boot from CD. To make bootable compact-disk you
should prepare its image in a special way. WTware boot CD image generator,
wtiso.exe, prepares such images.
WTware boot CD image generator window:
- IP parameters
Receive from DHCP-server
Write to CD
Terminal IP
Subnet mask
Main gateway
DNS server
TFTP server
TFTP prefix
WTwizard - Terminal configuration file
Download from WTwizard/TFTP

IP parameters
- When
"Receive from DHCP-server"item selected, terminal requests DHCP-server for network parameters while boot. Certainly, DHCP-server (only one!) should work in the network to send all needed settings to terminal. - When
"Write to CD"item selected, network settings configuration file is included into CD image. Use this option if there's no DHCP-server available or it shouldn't be used. - Specify terminal IP-address in the field
"Terminal IP". Required parameter. - Specify terminal subnet mask in the field
"Subnet mask". Required parameter. - Specify default gateway, router in the field
"Main gateway". Optional parameter. - Specify DNS-server address in the field
"DNS server". Optional parameter. - Specify TFTP-server address in the field
"TFTP server". This parameter is required when item "Download configuration file from TFTP" is selected. - Specify part of the path from TFTP-server root
to
configsdirectory, containing configuration files, in the field"TFTP prefix". Automatically its value is set to default value for WTware directory structure. Specify another value it only if you changed TFTP-server paths. - Specify address of the server, where
WTware WTwizard service works, in the field
"WTWizard".
Terminal cofiguration file
- When
"Download from WTwizard/TFTP"item selected, terminal downloads configuration file from WTwizard or TFTP server while boot. Server address should be specified or received from DHCP. - When
"Write to CD"item selected, configuration file is included into CD image. Use this option if there's no TFTP and WTwizard servers available or they shouldn't be used. Configuration file name is insignificant. It will be renamed so that any terminal regardless of its MAC-address could boot from this CD and use configuration file parameters.
Also it's possible to make universal CD image by writing several configuration files to CD. Names of these files should correspond to terminal MAC-addresses (
00.01.02.aa.bb.cc.wtcfor the terminal with MAC 00:01:02:aa:bb:cc). "Default" configuration file should be namedconfig.wtc. When the terminal boots it searches for its personal configuration file and if failes it readsconfig.wtc. In addition to main configuration file parameters you can specify parameter:clientIP = 192.168.1.101to set different IPs for different terminals that will boot from this CD.
[Only in WTware PRO] License file can be stored to the disk. This file can contain many licenses, so that every terminal that boots from this CD could find its license.
WTware version
Select from the list of available WTware versions the one to write to the disk.
Generate CD image
Start image generation. As a result CD image file is created. Use any program to write
CD. Attention, write file to disk AS CD IMAGE, NOT AS DATA FILE.
For example, when using Nero select:
File > Open > Select image file
When using Nero Express select "Disc Image or Saved Project".
